  • Handicapped Parking Tags – Issued between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Must bring medical form signed by doctor with an original signature not a stamp unless the Village already has one on file for a permanent disability. Drivers License of Applicant must also be provided. Temporary Parking Tags are only valid the length of the disability up to a maximum of 6 months.
  • Birth Certificates & Death Certificates - $10 fee- for a Certified Copy, Certification or No Record Certification. Appropriate forms and proof of ID must be presented.
  • Genealogy Copy - $11 fee – Birth Certificate – on file at least 75 years and not sealed. Death Certificate – on file at least 50 years. Appropriate forms and proof of ID must be presented.
  • FOIL requests– Freedom Of Information Law – Made in writing to the Records Access Officer care of the above address.

  • Payment of Fees Pickup of Refrigerators, Freezers and AC units ($15) accepted during regular business hours. Cash or check only no credit cards.
  • Permits – see Building Department Page Cash or check only no credit cards.
  • Tree Removal FormForm must be completed and returned to the Clerk’s office.
  • Garbage Pickup – Our current vendor for household trash pick up is Modern Disposal/NEI. Their phone number is 824-3766. Each household is allowed a MAXIMUM of 6 containers of household trash a week and two (2) large items. Each can must not weigh more than 60 lbs. All trash is to be in a covered, waterproof container. Trash must not be placed at the curb before 6 a.m. the day of your scheduled pickup. 2011 Holiday Schedule
  • Recycling is mandatory in the Village. You may purchase a green recycle tote for $5.00 from our Clerk's Office. You may use a cardboard box or another container for recyclables. Please make sure the container is set apart from your trash containers. Recycling Flyer
  • Board Meetings – On the 2nd & 4th Monday every month, unless a holiday falls on the Monday then the meeting will be moved to the next day – a Tuesday. Premeeting is at 6:30 p.m. in the Mayor’s Office, Regular meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Village Hall

  • Any solicitation in the Village requires a Peddler’s license. The fee is $150 and the application can be obtained from the Treasurer/Clerk’s Office.
  • Tax Collection Information: Village of Depew taxes are due each year no later than the first day of July. Deliver payments to the Village Treasurer’s Office, 85 Manitou St. Depew NY 14043.To obtain a village tax certificate through the mail, send the $10 fee made payable to "Village of Depew" along with a SASE with address requested to "Village of Depew, 85 Manitou St, Depew, NY 14043".     The Village of Depew no longer is an assessing unit. We now utilize the Town of Cheektowaga and the Town of Lancaster assessment information for the Depew Village Tax. If you have a question with regards to your assessment or an exemption please contact the Town of Cheektowaga Assessor's Office at (716) 686-3440 or the Town of Lancaster Assessor's Office at (716) 683-1311.

    The equaliztion rate for the Town of Cheektowaga is .62 and the equalization rate for the Town of Lancaster is .92.

    The 10-11 tax rate for the Town of Cheektowaga is $17.002983 per thousand assessed for the General Fund Tax and $33.90 per unit plus $.8398 per thousand assessed for the sewer operation and maintenance.

    The 10-11 tax rate for the Town of Lancaster is $11.458532 per thousand assessed for the General Fund Tax and $33.90 per unit plus $.56595 per thousand assessed for the sewer operation and maintenance.

    Can I make a partial payment on my taxes? Effective June 1, 2006 the Village of Depew will accept two (2) equal 50% partial payments for the tax bill. Any unpaid balance owed for taxes after the penalty free period (usually 7/1) will be subject to the penalty schedule listed below.

    What are the penalties for late tax payments?

    July 2 - Aug 2- 7.5%
    Aug 3 - Aug 31 - 9%
    Sept.1 - Sept 30 - 10.5%
    Oct 1 - Nov 1- 12%
    Nov 2 all unpaid taxes are re-levied to the County for collection
